Greetings! I am Joshua Bonsell

— a multidisciplinary creative and communications specialist originally from Jacksonville, Florida, now based in Austin, Texas. My background is rooted in journalism, public relations, visual communication, and technical content strategy, with a career that spans healthcare, defense, and technology.

I graduated with a B.S. in Public Relations from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) and previously attended Florida International University (FIU) to study communications. I also completed coursework in Visual Elements of User Interface Design through the California Institute of the Arts, expanding my expertise into user-centered content and front-end experiences.

Professionally, I’ve spent the last several years creating high-impact documentation and media for complex systems for government contractors also while acting as one. I’ve developed SOPs for multiple Department of Defense projects, including MFOCS installation protocols and unmanned surface vessel (USV) production. On the civilian side, I created the CHOW landing page for the State of Florida’s Medicaid Web Portal — helping simplify access to health services for thousands of users.

I work across technical documentation, UI/UX content, content management systems, and multimedia production. What sets me apart is my ability to learn fast and build from the inside out — taking on projects where I begin with nothing but curiosity and end with tangible, results-driven assets. I approach every task like it’s a mission: learn the system, solve the problem, deliver clean results.

But I’m not just a technical writer behind a screen. I’ve built a creative career around visual storytelling and experienced design, with side projects in music production, photography, and videography. I’m also a lifelong gamer and strategist — which might explain my love for user experience.

I’m known for being direct, independent, and solution based. I’m not here to fill space or fluff — I’m here to make the hard parts clear, and the good ideas real. My favorite compliment is, “You made that make sense.” and my personal mantra is, “I could complain, but what would be the point?”

When it is all said and done my job is to approach your work like I know nothing — learn everything — and then build something that speaks for itself.
